A month and a half after its official announcement on wage increase, IT major Infosys Limited has started rolling out salary hike letters to its employees. Many employees have been receiving the letters since November 29, but not every one of them seems satisfied with the hike.
It is said to be in the range of 4.5 per cent to 8 per cent. "I have been working for more than a year in a mid-level position here, but the hike I have got is disappointing," said an employee, on condition of anonymity. At the announcement of its second quarter results on October 12, Infosys had announced a hike of 6-8 per cent for its Indian employees and around 2-3 per cent for its onsite staff.
Another Infoscion said that while the hike figures are roughly around those promised, the lower limit of 4.5 per cent was less than expected. It is learnt that the hike would be effective October 2012 and would be paid along with December's salary.
On the salary hike issue, an official spokesperson from Infosys said, "During our Q2 results announcement on October 12, we said that we would be giving offshore employees an average salary hike of 6-8 per cent with effect from October 1, 2012. Since this was an average range, some employees would have got more and some less than the indicated range." Are you among those, who have got more or less than the indicated range?
