IT bellwether Infosys Technologies has recorded a net profit of Rs 649 crore
for the third quarter ended December 31, 2005 with y-o-y growth of 30.5%
compared to Rs 497 crore registered during the same quarter last fiscal. The
company has posted a total income of Rs 2,532 crore, with 34.9% growth over Rs
1,876 crore posted during the corresponding quarter last year. Sequentially,
Infosys has registered a 7% growth in its net profit from Rs 606 crore and 10.3%
growth in its total revenues from Rs 2,294 crore.
“We have seen another quarter of steady growth,” said
Nandan M. Nilekani, CEO, president and managing director. “Our initiatives in
strategic alignment, capability building and operational excellence are all on
track.” During the third quarter, Infy's earnings per share before exceptional
items increased to Rs 23.6 from Rs 18.5 for the corresponding quarter the
previous year.
