Indus OS users to get AVG antivirus security

Adding value to more than 3.5 mn users of its regional operating system, Indus OS has announced it will now make AVG AntiVirus and AVG Cleaner from AVG Technologies - the online security company, available on App Bazaar, to protect users from online threats. App Bazaar is the world’s first regional language and fastest-growing app marketplace, from the Indus OS stable, creating a regional language app ecosystem with a monthly cumulative app download rate of 130 percent.

“Our primary aim, at Indus OS, is to democratize the Internet, by merging language with technology, making it easier, more personal, and convenient. App Bazaar is one such way that we’re putting the power back into the hands of the end users, and I’m happy to have AVG aboard, to protect our 3 mn + App Bazaar users from online threats, malware and viruses,” said Rakesh Deshmukh, CEO Indus OS.

Offering apps and digital content in 12 different languages, App Bazaar currently has more than 25,000 apps, and is part of Indus OS, the world’s first Regional Smartphone Operating System. As per a Counterpoint research report for Q1 FY 2016-17, Indus OS is now the 2nd most popular OS in the country, overtaking iOS and Windows. Indus OS recently won the prestigious TiE50 (Silicon Valley) Top Start-Up Award 2016. It was also awarded the prestigious Economic Times Telecom Award 2016 for ‘Innovation in Developing OEM Product’.
