First reported by IANS, the facility is owned by an artificial intelligence company, Thalamus Irwine and is under the brand name, Garuda. Thalamus Irwine’s facility uses AI-system, computer vision technology and digitalized backend to screen mass volumes of international passengers for Covid19.

Post the test, passengers can get their results in 10-15 minutes on the mobile phones. The company stated to IANS, that the passengers of an entire international flight can be tested within minutes because of the AI-driven process improvement and a scalable node architecture.

Before this, countries included an Antigen Test negative report to enter the respective jurisdictions for the passengers. Now companies like Lufthansa, KLM, Air France among others have found success with the AI-driven facility.

The advantages of using the AI-driven facility have been multi fold. The AI-based system allows for monitoring the staff’s movements and keep track of the safety protocols during sample collection. In case of non-adherence to the protocols, an alert is sent by the system to the employees and also to the store manager. Also, the AI usage eliminates the discrepancies caused by manual entering of the results.

The cloud infra here plays a role in ensuring independence from storing the data on prem.
