Indian printing industry constantly evolving and demanding: Xerox

Xerox India appointed Vineet Gehani as Director of Technology and Channels in Nov. 2018. He joined Xerox from HP, and will help the brand drive further growth in the Indian and South Asian markets.

He is leading the Technology & Channels business in India and South Asia, helping drive profitability for all Xerox products and services – such as office equipment, production printing equipment, channel managed print services and solutions, consumables and paper – as well as focus on strategic partner development and expanding Xerox’s go-to-market network.

Excerpts from an interview:

DQ: Tell us about Xerox’s India business presence? What are your future plans for the Indian market?

Vineet Gehani: We are closing 2019 on a strong note by registering profitable growth for Xerox India. Wherein, channels business is of significant contribution to the overall India business revenue. New products were launched both in office and graphic communications space this year, from entry- to mid- to high-end segments, with standout features at competitive pricing, ensuring a healthy market share and strong position for Xerox India and its channel partners.

On the channel enablement front, several partner programs and schemes were launched for partners to maximize their business growth and provide more value-added offerings to their customers. On the back of our strong performance in the last couple of years, we are looking to continue the growth momentum in 2020.

DQ: How is Xerox helping its customers lead the way with CMYK printing?

Vineet Gehani: Revolutionary changes have taken place in the print industry, with businesses looking for solutions that go beyond the standard CMYK. The change was kickstarted by Xerox’s specialty dry ink technology that enabled customers to create and deliver more value. Xerox is constantly endeavoring to create technology offerings that help our customers explore new business avenues and drive new revenue streams, taking their business to new heights. It can be seen in the launch of the Iridesse press, a fine example of enhancement helping customers to expand their horizons beyond CMYK printing.

DQ: How is Xerox focused on developing ConnectKey for its customers to boost business opportunities and drive revenue to new heights?

Vineet Gehani: Workplaces today have moved beyond single devices, and need modern, mobile and interconnected workforce. Xerox ConnectKey is helping businesses with the ability to transform their workplace by making them smarter and more productive. Customers have stopped seeing printers as standalone devices that can only perform limited functions. They demand more useful solutions from their connected printers in offices.

ConnectKey MFPs can work the way you want them to, delivering consistent user experience across its portfolio by syncing in with other relevant devices that you need in order to get your work done. One can work from remote locations, control and perform tasks, retrieve key documents and information on the go without having the need to be confined inside the office, offering you a connected workforce by bringing it all together.

The technology also ensures that the security is not compromised while sharing of data/information by providing an infrastructure that is customized as per your organization, depending on its size and scale. With such workplace assistants, businesses have been able to boost their productivity, efficiency combining all the capabilities that allow them to deliver more.

DQ: How does Xerox intend to be at the forefront of growth by strengthening its market position in digital printing?

Vineet Gehani: The Indian printing industry is constantly evolving and constantly demanding, and we see great potential in digital printing and looking to expand offerings and solutions in this segment. We have introduced key digital presses customized for large, mid-range, and entry-level businesses that changing the way the industry perceives production presses.

We also rely on our strong channel partner network, which helps us get authentic market feedback, expectations from our customers, and widen our reach, ensuring superior customer satisfaction and delivery.
