Indian Government Invites Applications from SC and OBC Students for Free Coaching in Competitive Exams

Indian Government is offering free coaching for SC and OBC students who have a family income of less than 8 lakh rupees per annum

Indian Government has invited applications from SC and OBC students for a Free Coaching Scheme, which is an initiative that aims at enhancement of skill and capability to students belonging to Schedule Caste (SC) or Other Back Caste (OBC). The Free Coaching Scheme is a central sector scheme of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. Students whose family income is less than 8 lakhs per annum pay apply for the scheme.

Owing to the pandemic situation, students who submit applications for online coaching would be considered under mode 2 of the scheme for the year 2021-22. Under mode 2 of the Scheme of Free Coaching Scheme for SC and OBC Students, candidates have the liberty to pursue the coaching course in any institute of their choice except the de-empanelled institutes' list provided in the official notification. The last date to submit applications for mode 2 would be 10 September 2021.

Indian Government Provides Free Coaching for Which Competitive Exams?

If the applicant chooses the option for physical coaching, the applicant for the physical mode of coaching should explicitly indicate whether the physical mode of coaching is permitted by the respective State or UT government where the applicant proposes to take coaching. Selected SC and OBC students will be able to avail of free coaching for the following examinations:

  • UPSC
  • SPSC
  • RRBs
  • SSC
  • JEE
  • NEET
  • CAT
  • CLAT
  • GATE
  • BANK
  • PSU
  • CPL
  • NDA
  • CDS
  • TOEFL
  • GMAT
  • GRE
  • SAT

If at any point of time the applicant is found ineligible as per scheme guidelines, their candidature will be cancelled immediately without affording any opportunity to the applicant, says the notification. Candidates are advised to go through the official website for further information.
