At a press conference today, Vipul Ray, President, IEEMA, said that 55% of capital goods industry is from the electrical sector. We are now seeing the green shoots for growth. ELECRAMA 2023 is now being announced.

The Indian PM had set a goal to be energy independent. Ray presented the energy transition goal by 2047 for the Indian electrical and allied electronics manufacturing industry. Electricity contribution with net zero and green hydrogen will go up from current 42% to 63-65%. The per capita consumption should go up from current 1208 units to 10,000 units. India should also become energy independent and net energy producer.

Mission 2030 is for the industry to reach $65 billion output with export of $25 billion. The vision is to be the clean energy transformation partner for India, be an enabler for achieving 10K units per capita electricity consumption, be global technology leaders in storage and green hydrogen, and be a self-reliant and global manufacturing hub.

There will be focus on energy storage, energy efficiency, EVs, Industry 4.0, digitization, etc. We are looking at investing and making global players. Right skilling is going to be another pillar. We also need to be self reliant in technology and the industry by 2047.

We have established minimum content for local manufacturing. We also have embedded software, trojans, etc. We have worked very closed with the Ministry. Equipment coming into India will be tested for trojans and cyber security. Quality of power is also important. We have worked on the standardization of power.

Jitendra K. Agarwal, Chairman, ELECRAMA, said we offer a panorama of Indian products and solutions. We have had inquiries from all over the world. Everybody now has hunger for growth. Green shoots are visible due to actions taken by the Indian government. We see a bright future for our sector, as electricity will be the pre-eminent form of energy. Oil has been the original driver. The future of energy is electricity.

We now need to re-imagine energy. It also translates into a multi-billion dollar opportunity. We can further stregthen the transmission and distribution network. There are six broad areas. These are, strengthening the core transmission and distribution networks, focus on quality, reliability, and safety, and consumer empowerment.

New business opportunities are coming up. These are in metros, smart cities, EVs, etc. There are massive opportunities for the electrical industry. We are also looking for pathways for SMEs to be part of the global supply chain. We are nurturing startups. Now, lot of unicorns will be coming up in manufacturing.

The upcoming edition of the show will focus on many areas. These are, storage, green hydrogen, fuel efficiency, AI, IoT, sustainability through energy conservation, etc. There will be more focus on green energy and carbon net zero in the forthcoming show. We have been looking at the electrical industry for green energy.

ELECRAMA 2023 will have colocated events, such as World Utility Summit or WUS.
It is attended by CXOs of companies, utility bodies, regulators, etc. GIZ, Germany will be the supporting partner at WUS. We are exchanging an MoU with them.

Etech-Nxt will be another event. It showcases new technologies impacting the power sector. Change-Xchange or reverse buyer-seller meet, is yet another event. It has 650 buyers from 65 countries. BuildELEC is another event. It showcases safe electricity in smart buildings. It focuses on the H3O segment. It looks at homes, hospitals, hotels, and offices (H3O), and showcases energy efficiency, fire safety, building automation, IoT and smart security solutions, for industrial, commercial and residential buildings. We will also be focusing on world-class facility.
