Tell us about your companys prominent offerings.
There are not one but many in the 130 plus implementations
that I have been a part of. Sesamestreet.org is one such implementation that
enabled us to save hundred of thousands of rupees, which is a fraction of the
cost that was incurred initially. Open source is less expensive and has a lot of
applications. Another offering is the application developed for the Elly Lilly,
a pharmaceutical company, which enables the company to upload the research work
conducted by their team on a website and all the pharmaceutical companies all
over the world who have conducted research on the same topic and started their
work through a powerful network.
The companys partnership with Liferay has soared new heights. Your
Comments?
Our relationship with Liferay, a portal that enables more than 40,000
downloads is a partnership that we have nurtured for approximately five years.
This partnership has witnessed more than forty major implementations. For
example, Sesame Street is an implementation of Liferay.
What is the future that you see for open source?
During 2007-08, content management started penetrating into various
verticals. In the next ten years, there will be a lot of adaption in a lot of
segments. According to a report by Gartner, by 2012, 25% more adaption of open
source will be witnessed in serious applications like finance, pharmaceuticals,
government, etc. Currently, 50% of the people use open source.
What are your plans for India?
This year we plan to focus on Europe. India is very much an integral part of
our plans. In fact it is a very good option to serve the markets that has helped
to treble our count. We intend to serve our customers and offer value benefits
from India. We intend to start offering open source to customers in India and
expand in the Indian market.
