IIT Summer Internship 2021: Applications Invited for IIT Roorkee SPARK Program, Weekly Stipend RS 2500

IIT summer internship 2021 will soon be conducted at IIT Roorkee through its SPARK program, for which online applications have been invited. This time, applications have been invited from both national and international students as well. Those selected will be engaged at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee from 12 May 2021 onwards for a period of two weeks, and will also be paid a monthly stipend of Rs 2,500.

“A large number of bright undergraduate students in the country miss an opportunity to experience an IIT because of a lack of resources or opportunity at the right time. They enter professional life immediately after graduation. If they get an opportunity to intern at an IIT like IIT Roorkee, we hope that after graduation more of them will be tempted to choose research as a career option. The SPARK program is an attempt to attract more of our brightest young minds to pursue higher studies after their graduation,” says Prof Ajit K Chaturvedi, director, IIT Roorkee.

Who can Apply for IIT Summer Internship 2021 at IIT Roorkee?

The SPARK internship program is open to students who are pursuing BArch, BE, BTech or MSc in a relevant discipline from any institute in India. The applicants should have completed at least two semesters of their undergraduate degree. However, students should have attained the following minimum CGPA criteria:

• Over 7.5 for IITs or IISc.
• Over 8.0 for NITs, IISERs, NISER, IIEST and UM-DAECBS.
• Over 8.5 for students of other institutes.

How to Apply for IIT Summer Internship 2021 at IIT Roorkee?

Those who wish to apply for the SPARK internship program need to upload the last semester mark sheet of current degree, applicant’s photograph, a 500-word research statement, and a brief 1-2 page resume before 10 March 2021 on the official IIT Roorkee SPARK website. After the successful completion of the IIT Roorkee SPARK internship, a certificate from the institute with the name of the intern and mentor, signed by Dean, SRIC, will be issued to all interns.
