IIT Ropar Invites Applications for PhD Admission, Part-time Opportunities are Also Available

IIT Ropar is currently accepting applications from eligible candidates for PhD admission for the academic year 2021-22. Interested candidates may submit their applications on the dedicated portal of the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. “IIT Ropar is inviting research applications for PhD programs for the academic year 2021-22. The online applications portal is available from 21 March to 12 April 2021,” tweeted the institute.

Apart from regular PhD admission, there are opportunities available for part-time candidates as well. IIT Ropar PhD students will be given access to one of the best research laboratories in the country, fellowships to attend national and international conferences, scholar exchange programs and hostel accommodation, says the institute.

PhD Admission Opportunities that are Available at IIT Ropar

Regular PhD: There are regular PhD options available in civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgical and materials engineering, biomedical engineering, and other such areas.

External PhD: This opportunity is available for PhD in engineering in civil, chemical, computer science, electrical, mechanical, biomedical, metallurgical and materials, and PhD in science: chemistry, physics, and mathematics.

Direct PhD: Students under this category get an opportunity to earn a doctorate in engineering, sciences or humanities directly after the Bachelor’s degree.

Part-time PhD: A research scholar under the part-time PhD programme will carry out a major part or all of their research work at IIT Ropar under the supervision of supervisors at the institute.

PhD programme for project staff: Candidates with a Master’s degree in engineering, science or humanities as well as candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering can apply for these vacancies.
