IIT Roorkee Invites Applications for Free Online Course on Artificial Intelligence in Marketing 

IIT Roorkee has announced a free online course on artificial intelligence in marketing on the SWAYAM NPTEL platform. The course is being offered for students who have completed their under-graduation. The free online course on artificial intelligence by IIT Roorkee aims at helping students to understand the changes that have been brought about by artificial intelligence in traditional marketing, and also help them address concerns on ethical AI.

The course is being conducted by Dr. Zillur Rahman who is a professor at the Department of Management Studies at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He has over 20 years of experience in academia, and has delivered research talk in many countries including USA, Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy and Turkey. The professor has received the Commendable Faculty Award in the domain of Business, Management and Accounting. 

What the IIT Roorkee Free Online Course on Artificial Intelligence Will Cover? 

According to the SWAYAM NPTEL portal, some of the topics that will be covered as part of the course are as follows:

• Understanding the basics of artificial intelligence in marketing.
• Customer value and role of artificial intelligence in value delivery process.
• Using application of AI in marketing mix.
• Understanding of marketing research, individual dynamics and its influence on consumers.
• Meaning of customer experience including meaning, characteristics, and personalisation.
• Artificial intelligence for value creation and product development.
• Implementation of artificial intelligence.
• Role of artificial intelligence in advertising.
• AI in sales promotion and direct marketing, AI in PR and publicity and social media marketing.
• AI and marketing channel management, omnichannel marketing and retailing.
• Navigating ethical challenges in artificial intelligence.

Certificates Upon Completing IIT Roorkee Free Online Course on Artificial Intelligence

While the course is free to take, those who wish to obtain certificates with logos of NPTEL and IIT Roorkee will have to pay Rs 1000 and take an examination. The exam will be conducted on 27 April 2024, and candidates can opt for either the morning or afternoon session. However, candidates must note that only the e-certificates will be given and no physical certificates will be despatched. Those who wish to take the course are advised to visit the official website for further information. The course will begin from 22 January, and the last date to enrol for the course would be 29 January 2024. Students will require around 12 weeks to complete the course.
