IIT Recruitment 2019: Mechanical Engineers can Apply for Project Scientist Positions, Salary up to Rs 50,000

IIT recruitment 2019 for mechanical engineers is being conducted at the Institute of Technology, New Delhi (IIT Delhi), and there are two vacancies for the position of Project Scientist, and one for Principal Scientist. The candidates will be selected based on a walk-in-interview or test and once selected would be eligible for a salary of Rs 35,400 to 50,000 for the Project Scientist Vacancy and up to Rs 79,000 per month for Principal Scientist vacancy. Both posts are also eligible for a house rent allowance at 24 percent.

Who can Apply for the IIT Recruitment 2019?

As per the notification issued on the IIT Delhi website, mechanical engineers are eligible to apply for the vacancies available. The exact eligibility criteria are as follows:

1. For the position of Project Scientist MTech in Mechanical Engineering discipline with more than 75% marks in postgraduate degree with GATE qualification (relaxable) and at least 2 years of working experience (non-teaching) with Finite Element modeling using LS-Dyna or ANSYS, Hypermesh software at an advanced level is required.
2. For another position of Project Scientist BTech in Mechanical Engineering with more than 80 percent marks, with GATE qualification (relaxable) along with working experience with Finite Element modeling using LS-Dyna or ANSYS and Hypermesh is required.
3. For the position of Principal Scientist candidates with a PhD with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering along with strong research background in structural mechanics using Finite Element modeling will be preferred.

Interested and eligible candidates may appear for a walk-in-interview to be conducted on 3 September 2019 at 3:30 and 3:45 pm for Project Scientist, and 4:00 pm for Principal Scientist at Room No. 265, Block-II, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi 110016.
