IIT recruitment 2019 is being conducted at the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) for a sponsored project from the Naval Research Board, Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO). The vacancy available is that of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or project associate, and the selected candidate may even be eligible for an MS programme at IIT Mandi. The selected candidate will also be paid a stipend of Rs 12,000 Rs. 31,000 per month, based on their qualification and experience.
Who can Apply for IIT Recruitment 2019?
As per the notification issued on the official IIT Mandi website, the DRDO funded project is titled “Classification of sonar signals using convolutional neural networks”, and the qualification required to apply for the same is BTech, BE, MTech, ME, MCA, or MSc in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, or related fields. A valid GATE, NET or equivalent national level test score is required for JRF appointment.
The candidate would also be required to have a good background in signal processing, machine learning, project experience with machine learning, good programming skills in Matlab, Python, C, C++, and so on. The daily duties of the selected candidate would include algorithm development and evaluation, data collection and annotation, building and maintaining the project website, and any further help related to the project.
The selected candidate would be hired initially for a period of 6 months, which is extendable based on performance. Deserving project associate may also be considered for MS program at IIT Mandi provided the candidate meets all the requirements of MS selection process as per the institute norms.
