IIT PhD Admission 2021: IIT Hyderabad Invites Applications for PhD in Artificial Intelligence

Online applications are currently being accepted for IIT PhD admission 2021 at IIT Hyderabad. Among other subjects that are being offered, IIT Hyderabad has also invited applications for PhD in artificial intelligence, which will begin in January 2021. The Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad currently has 22 faculty members.

Candidates selected for the PhD in artificial intelligence will be provided with excellent laboratory facilities that they can access at any time, says the institute. The laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including software and hardware including high-end GPU servers. All the laboratories are provided with internet connectivity.

Who can Apply for IIT PhD Admission 2021 at IIT Hyderabad?

Online applications are currently being accepted for regular PhD, direct PhD and part-time PhD. The qualifications required to apply for the same are as follows:

• Candidates who have completed their MTech or equivalent degree in computer science, electrical and communications engineering, electrical and electronics engineering or related areas in artificial intelligence can apply for the PhD in the Department of AI. Candidates must have already earned their master’s degree, or should at least be in the final year and be able to obtain their degrees by the time of admission into the PhD program.
• Also, candidates with MSc, MCA or equivalent postgraduate degree with an EMDS at IIT Hyderabad may apply for the regular PhD program.
• IIT Hyderabad also considers direct PhD admission from candidates with a BTech, BE, MCA, MSc or equivalent degree in any engineering discipline or Maths, along with a valid GATE score in CS, EC, EE, MA or ST. Candidates with BTech or MSc in any engineering discipline or Maths from any Centrally Funded Technological Institutes (CFTI), with CGPA 9 or above can apply without a valid GATE score.
• For the part-time PhD in artificial intelligence, candidates employed with a relevant employer at the time of application and admission, along with the qualifications mentioned above may apply.

How to Apply for IIT PhD Admission 2021 at IIT Hyderabad?

Interested and eligible candidates need to apply online on the official IIT Hyderabad website before 11 November 2020. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic background, after which they will have to appear for a written test and/or an interview.
