IIT PhD Admission 2021: Applications Invited for PhD in School of Engineering at IIT Mandi

IIT PhD admission 2021 will soon be conducted at IIT Mandi for its School of Engineering. Candidates can apply online for PhD as well as MS in civil, mechanical and materials engineering. The programs will commence in February 2021. Those who are shortlisted to do their PhD in the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi will be informed regarding the same over email.

Who can Apply for IIT PhD Admission 2021 at IIT Mandi?

The notifications issued on the IIT Mandi website mention that there are PhD vacancies available in the School of Engineering in civil, mechanical and materials engineering. The eligibility criteria required to apply for the PhD positions are as follows:

• PhD in mechanical engineering: BTech in mechanical, aerospace, or production engineering and MTech in machine design, applied mechanics, biomedical engineering or related areas. Candidates must have qualified GATE in related area at least once in academic career. Furthermore, candidates from certain other streams of mechanical engineering can apply for PhD, according to the notification.
• PhD in civil engineering: BTech in civil, mechanical, or aerospace engineering and MTech in structural engineering, mechanical design or aerospace structure or related areas. Candidates must have qualified GATE in related area at least once in academic career. In addition to that, candidates from certain other streams of civil engineering can apply for PhD, according to the notification.
• B PhD in materials engineering: BTech in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials engineering or related areas and MTech in Mechanical, Materials Engineering or related areas. Candidates must have qualified GATE or NET in related area at least once in academic career. Also, candidates from certain other streams can also apply for PhD, according to the notification.

How to Apply for IIT PhD Admission 2021 at IIT Mandi?

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online on the official IIT Mandi website until 8 November 2020. Candidates can also write to se_adimissions@iitmandi.ac.in for any queries they may have. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 issue, the admission processes may defer from the earlier procedures, subjected to GOI norms, says the notification.
