IIT Madras Partners with L&T EduTech to Offer Online Courses to Students

IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has announced a partnership with L&T EduTech to offer industry skilling programs for engineering and science students across India. The aim of this collaboration is to bridge the gap between academia and industry by providing students with access to industry experts and top academics who can teach them concepts and fundamentals required to make them industry-ready. The long-term target is to reach 25,000 students annually under this initiative.

Speaking about this collaboration, Prof V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said: "Our flagship program ‘BIS’ is a great success. We are now taking a step forward with this relationship to address the skill gap between academia and industry through certification programs.”

Customized programs for professionals across the industry to upskill themselves and achieve career progression will also be offered under this partnership. Pravartak Technologies will bring expertise from various engineering and science departments of IIT Madras while L&T EduTech will provide industry expertise.

Each of the courses will provide conceptual learning supported by engineering applications. As a result, learners will be exposed to the fundamentals of engineering along with industry-relevant knowledge derived from engineering practice. Details about the programs will be announced on their respective websites and social media accounts by the end of this month.
