IIT Madras is currently inviting applications for two new free online courses on artificial intelligence, which can be taken by anyone who is interested to learn about the subject. The courses are available on the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) wherein other IITs and IISc are offering several free online courses scheduled to begin in January. The free online courses on artificial intelligence being offered by IIT Madras are titled “AI: Constraint Satisfaction” and “Artificial Intelligence: Knowledge Representation and Reasoning.”
The courses are being conducted by Prof Deepak Khemani who is a professor at the department of computer science and engineering, IIT Madras. He completed his BTech in mechanical engineering, and MTech and PhD in computer science from IIT Bombay, and has been with IIT Madras post that. Participants can take the courses for free, but to take an exam and obtain the e-certificate with the logis of IIT Madras and NPTEL, participants will have to pay a fee of Rs 1000.
Who can Take the Free Online Courses on Artificial Intelligence by IIT Madras?
Both courses aim at equipping learners with knowledge on problem-solving using artificial intelligence. Although the course is free and can be taken by interested participants, it will be beneficial for undergraduate and postgraduate students studying computer science, BE, ME, MS, MSc and PhD students. Participants are required to have some knowledge on formal languages, logic and programming, and so on.
What Will Be Taught in the Free Online Courses on Artificial Intelligence by IIT Madras?
participants will get to learn the following topics in the courses: Introduction, Propositional Logic, Syntax and Semantics, Constraint satisfaction problems (CSP), examples, Search methods for solving CSPs, lookahead methods, dynamic variable and value ordering, Proof Systems, Natural Deduction, Tableau Method, Resolution Method, and other related subjects.
