IIT Madras Invites Applications for Post-doctoral Fellowship in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

IIT Madras is seeking applications from candidates across the country with a PhD degree in research topics related to data science, artificial intelligence or allied application domains for post-doctoral fellowships at the Robert Bosch Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (RBCDSAI). The research fellowship will include a monthly stipend that is significantly higher than typical institute post-doctoral fellowship, says IIT Madras.

Areas of Research of the IIT Madras Post-doctoral Fellowship

Selected candidates will get to work on areas of research related to data science, artificial intelligence or allied application domains such as Deep learning, network analytics, theoretical machine learning, reinforcement learning and multi-armed bandits, natural language processing, artificial intelligence on the edge, system architecture for data science and artificial intelligence, ethics, fairness and explainability in artificial intelligence, systems biology and healthcare, smart cities and transportation, and financial analytics.

Who Can Apply for the IIT Madras Post-doctoral Fellowship

• Exceptional candidates with a PhD degree can apply.
• Candidates with a thesis under review can also apply.
• Applicants must have an outstanding publication record.
• Proficiency in programming high-level languages such as Python, R, MATLAB and so on is a must.
• Those who have made a contribution to open-source projects will be preferred.

Candidates who are selected for the first round will be offered a Research Associate position for a maximum period of 3 months. The selected candidates would be required to use this time to develop close research interactions with a faculty mentor of mutual interest, refine their research proposal, and generate preliminary results.

In the second round, the selected research associates will be called for an interview after clearing which they would be declared an "RBC DSAI Research Fellow", which offers a monthly stipend, additional allowances for research/travel, and so on.
