IIT Madras Invites Applications for Zanzibar Campus

The Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Madras calls for applications to its Zanzibar Campus which is an institution formed by an extraordinary partnership between the Government of India, Zanzibar, and IIT Madras. The campus will commence its academic programs in October 2023. It will offer students with a unique opportunity to pursue a four-year Bachelor of Science degree or a two years Master of Technology degree in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The IIT Madras Zanzibar campus invites applications from students belonging to all nationalities including Indian candidates. Students will have the option to choose between the four-year Bachelor’s program and the two-year Master’s program based on their eligibility and qualifications.

Those candidates who are interested to take admission to the campus can submit their applications online until the 5th of August 2023. Candidates can visit the official website to gain further details about fees, accommodation, living costs, sample question papers, financial aid, and other essential information.

"The selection process will include a screening test (which is an aptitude test, covering mathematics, science, English, and analytical ability), and interviews with faculty. Students who have cleared Class XII, Form VI, or equivalent in the past three years are eligible to apply for the BS program, while those with a 4-year UG degree in any engineering/science discipline may apply for the MTech program,"   said Prof. Preeti Aghalayam, Zanzibar Campus, IIT Madras explaining the admission process.

Students who become part of the Zanzibar Campus will gain access to IIT Madras' distinguished innovation ecosystem and have the opportunity to interact with a global network of IITM alumni. The institute also offers financial assistance in the form of scholarships to meritorious students.
