IIT Madras Invites Applications for 3 to 6 Months Online Internship for International Students

IIT Madras has invited applications for a 3 to 6 months online internship opportunity available at its Robert Bosch Centre for Data Science and AI (RBCDSAI). The virtual internship position is being offered through the e-GRIESHMA Program by IIT Madras, which is basically a virtual global research internship in engineering science humanities and management.

While this internship is for international students only, RBCDSAI has opportunities for Indian students as well. For the e-GRIESHMA program, international students in their final year of under graduation or post-graduation can apply. Applicants will need to have a minimum CGPA of 3 out of four or eight out of ten. Furthermore, applicants will have to clear a Python programming test as well as an additional round of screening such as MCQs on machine learning, data science and artificial intelligence.

Students can choose up to three topics from the following list:

• Structural characterization of algebraic tournaments.
• The interconnection of adaptive modules/motifs.
• Network mapping.
• Automated doubt generation models for natural language contexts.
• AI-based acoustic camera-based gesture recognition.
• Simulation-assisted AI-based automation of X-ray baggage scanning.
• AI-based simulations in wave propagation.
• Identification of putative driver genes and their role based on patient profile.
• Artificial intelligence for energy management and optimization in smart buildings.
• Knowledge augmented real-estate description generation.
• Dropout prediction in MOOCs.

How To Apply for IIT Madras Online Internship for International Students

Interested students will have to apply on the official website before 15 May 2021. Applicants will also have to upload a Statement of Purpose of one page specifying the reason for applying, broad areas of research interest, specific course duration requirements for home institute credit requirements, any interest in co-supervision for a supervisor from the applicant’s institution and an indication of the student’s interest in coming to IIT Madras in the future if interested.
