IIT Madras Announces Artificial Intelligence Internship for Women With Stipend of Rs 40,000

IIT Madras is currently accepting applications from women for a two-year research internship in artificial intelligence and data science. The artificial intelligence internship, called Women Post Baccalaureate Fellowship, is being offered at the Robert Bosch Centre for Data Science and AI (RBCDSAI), a premier centre of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Graduates and postgraduates, with an exceptional academic record, under the age of 28 years as of 31 March 2023 may apply for the opportunity.

Who Can Apply for IIT Madras Artificial Intelligence Internship?

Women with exceptional educational qualifications may apply for the artificial intelligence internship provided they also meet the following criteria:

• The candidate should have a 4 year bachelors or a masters degree in areas relevant to RBCDSAI.
• They should be under the age of 28 years.
• Candidates should be available to accept the offer immediately, and provide a joining date within 6 weeks from the date of receiving the offer letter.

During the application process, applicants must indicate three faculty members from RBCDSAI with whom they desire to collaborate. Depending on research interests, alignment, and availability, the candidate will undergo an interview with the relevant faculty member. Upon selection, the candidate will have the opportunity to work with the chosen faculty member. It's important to note that the fellowship is linked to the student rather than the faculty advisor. Consequently, students have the flexibility to choose a different faculty advisor within RBCDSAI, contingent on mutual agreement.

How Much Will Candidates Selected for IIT Madras Internship Receive?

The starting monthly stipend is Rs 40,000, subject to the candidate's experience and qualifications. The continuation of the fellowship hinges on the candidate's performance, and a committee will conduct a thorough review for the renewal process. The fellowship provides a platform for advancing research skills, offering fellows ample time to review literature, delve deeply into topics, engage in discussions with peers at the Center, and develop innovative solutions.
