IIT Kharagpur Placements: Students’ Average Salary Rs 19 Lakhs, List of Companies that Have Made Offers

IIT Kharagpur says that its students have received over 1000 offers so far in the ongoing hiring session for the year 2020-21. The institute said that over 200 companies are participating in the first phase of the recruitment drive, out of which 25-27% are core companies, 65% are software, and 10% are consulting firms. Around 30 students have also received offers from international companies located in Japan and Taiwan, added the institute through its official new platform The KGP Chronicle.

Students have been offered jobs across different sectors such as software, hardware, analytics, consulting, core engineering, education, healthcare, banking, and finance among others. The average salary of students stands at Rs 19 lakhs per annum, according to the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. The first phase of the placements will conclude on December 11, and the next phase will resume from 14 January 2021 onwards.

IIT Kharagpur says that the placements are a testimony to the “high academic quality and technical skills” of students, which were reflected through the online internship program 2020 including in-house internships by faculty mentors in addition to industrial internships arranged through the institute’s career development centre.
