IIT Kharagpur has invited applications for a free online course called Blockchain and its Applications for students and professionals

IIT Kharagpur is currently accepting applications from interested participants for a free online course called Blockchain and its Applications that can be completed in 12 weeks. The course is being offered to cater to the demands from governments, enterprises, and academics for the application of blockchain technology. While the course is free to take, certificates will be given to participants that pay Rs 1000 and clear an examination that will be conducted on 29 April 2023.

The course will be conducted by Dr Sandip Chakraborty who is an associate professor, and Kharagpur professor Shamik Sural who is a full-time professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. The course will be conduced from 23 January 2023 up to 14 April 2023, and the enrolment for the course ends on 30 January 2023. Three credit points are also being offered along with the free online course on blockchain, which could be beneficial for students.

  • Elements of a blockchain.
  • Blockchain consensus such as permissionless models and permissioned models.
  • Ethereum smart contracts, and hyperledger fabric.
