IIT Kharagpur Invites Applications for Online Course on Data Analytics

IIT Kharagpur has offered a short term online course called Introduction to R Programming and Data Analytics for which interested students and professionals can register. The course, which will be conducted from 6 to 21 November 2021, is being organised by the Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM) of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Participants will receive a certificate from VGSOM and IIT Kharagpur, Continuing Education Program.

The course will be conducted on weekends, and consists of 15 hours of interactive training. The sessions will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays for three hours each. Professors from IIT Kharagpur and industry leaders will conduct the classes. The programme, according to the institute, will help participants use the acquired skills in solving assignments, which will mimic real case studies.

What the IIT Kharagpur Online Course on Data Analytics Will Cover?

The course aims at equipping participants with data analytics skills and its applications in real world situations through hands on usage of R Programming. Some of the topics that will be covered are as follows:

• Introduction to data analytics, and data handling with R.
• More data handling with R.
• Introduction to probability and statistics, and distributions.
• Hypotheses testing with R Programming.
• Regression with R.

The programme is basically targeted to create data analysts and introductory data scientists with focus on managerial applications of analytics.
