IIT Kharagpur Invites Applications for Online Course on Data Analytics with R Programing

IIT Kharagpur, one of the first IITs to be established and recognized as an Institute of National Importance, has invited application for an online course on Data Analytics with R Programing. The course will be conducted for 30 hours over a period of 8 weeks, and will mostly be conducted over the weekends.

“For gaining competitive advantage through data-driven decision making, managers should be able to marry raw data with business acumen,” says the course brochure. The online course will be conducted by Dr. Swagato Chatterjee (Assistant Professor, IITKGP, BTech, IITKGP; PhD, IIMB) and industry experts from the analytics domain.

Who Can Apply for the IIT Kharagpur Online Course?

While the course is aimed at both students and professionals, mid-level managers working in any domain of business, business analytics enthusiasts, and BTech and MBA students can apply for it. Attendees of the online program would require an uninterrupted high-speed internet connection and a laptop or desktop with R and RStudio Installed, preferably Windows laptops or Macbooks, says the website.

Some of the aspects of Data Analytics, which will be covered in the course are introduction to analytics, descriptive analytics, predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics, applications in marketing, and so on.

Candidates will first need to register with the website and get their email address verified, after which they will be allowed to log in, fill up profile details, chose the course from the dashboard and then apply.
