IIT Kharagpur has invited applications from interested candidates for 12 professional trainee vacancies available at its Central Library
IIT Kharagpur has announced 12 professional trainee vacancies, wherein selected candidates will be engaged for a period of one year. The vacancies are available at the Central Library of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Applicants may be selected for the positions based on their performance in a written exam, interview, or both. Selected candidates will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs 20,000.
How to Apply for IIT Kharagpur Recruitment for Professional Trainee Vacancies?
The latest notification issued on the non-teaching positions section of the IIT Kharagpur website says that there are a total of 12 vacancies for which postgraduate candidates within 30 years of age holding first class in both Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) and Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) can apply.
Candidates with relevant computer knowledge and experience will be preferred for the vacancies. Furthermore, reservations for SC, ST, OBC, EWS or PH and so on will be made as per Government of India norms. The positions are purely temporary, and the notification does not mention any extension beyond the period of one year.

Interested and eligible candidates will have to apply online through the quick links under non-teaching positions on or before 10 November 2021 and send a signed hardcopy printout of the online application on or before 15 November 2021 to the Librarian, Central Library, IIT Kharagpur 721302, West Bengal by enclosing self-attested copies of certificates or testimonials. The envelope should be superscribed “Application for Professional Trainee”, and only applications from candidates who submit both online applications and hard copies will be considered.
