IIT Kharagpur to Host Free Online Workshop on Accelerated Data Science

IIT Kharagpur will be hosting on 21 and 22 February 2021 a free online workshop on “Accelerated Data Science” in collaboration with NVIDIA Corporation, India and National Supercomputing Mission, C-DAC, Government of India. The event, which will be delivered through Microsoft Teams, is being organised by the Centre for Computational and Data Science at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

The registrations for the event are being offered for free to faculty members, research students, advanced masters and undergraduate students, and industry professionals. The workshop will cover the state-of-art theory and technologies for accelerated machine learning, as well as deep learning algorithms. Furthermore, the event will also cover the fundamentals of GPU computing with an emphasis on machine learning and deep learning algorithms.

Topics that Will be Covered at the IIT Kharagpur Free Online Workshop on Accelerated Data Science

According to the IIT KGP Chronicle website, the following topics will be covered during the two-day free online workshop being conducted by IIT Kharagpur:

  • Fundamentals of GPU Architecture and CUDA.
  • Introduction to Accelerated Data Science: RAPIDS.
  • Introduction to Machine Learning Algorithms.
  • Case Study/Hands-on: Solving and Benchmarking End to End Data Science Problem using RAPIDS.
  • Introduction to Deep Neural Network and Deep Learning.
  • NVIDIA CUDA-X Platform Overview: Accelerated Computing for Deep Neural Networks.
  • Accelerating and Scaling Deep Neural Networks using DALI, Mixed Precision and Multi-GPU Scaling.
  • Optimizing and Deployment of Neural Networks using TensorRT & Triton Inference Server.

The HPC Nodal Center at IIT Kharagpur focuses on manpower creation and up-skilling of students, faculty, scientists, researchers, scientific users in the areas of high-performance computing and artificial intelligence (AI). The nodal center also focuses on organizing training programs on large scale computing in different science domains and thrives to bridge the gap between application and development aspects in HPC.
