IIT Kharagpur alumnus has developed an app by the name Filo, which is now available on Google PlayStore for download, to help JEE Mains and NEET 2020 students get their doubts cleared from experts in real-time. Students will need to take a picture of the question or type it in and an expert on the subject from noteworthy institutions such as IITs, NITs, IIITs and DTUs will answer the query.

The app’s page on Play Store says that it has been developed by IIT Kharagpur alumnus Imbesat Ahmad. “You can interrupt your tutor as many times as you want and get your doubts cleared minutely. You can ask follow up doubts as well on the call,” says the app description. Filo, which means “friend”, aims at helping students through video calls as the COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult for them to attend coaching for examinations.

The app is completely free of cost, and for now, queries related to 11th Physics, 11th Chemistry, 11th Mathematics, 12th Physics, 12th Chemistry, 12th Mathematics, JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, NEET, medical entrances and engineering entrances are being cleared. Students can ask their doubts anonymously.

Alumni from educational institutes of national repute like the IITs, NITs, DTU and top-notched government colleges, may also opt to volunteer as Filo tutors. “We are already receiving questions from all over India, but our team isn’t big enough to help thousands of students. Therefore, we have kickstarted the mission #BecomeAFilo and urge you all to join us in easing the burden of the budding students of our country,” says the official page.

The students who wish to know more about the app, are advised to visit the official website for more information. To be able to use the app, an Android version of 5.0 and upwards is required.
