IIT Kanpur has invited applications for an online course on Python Programming. While the course is being offered free of cost as well, those who wish to acquire a certificate for the course can do so by paying a nominal fee and taking an online examination. The course is open to all students who are pursuing a graduation or post-graduation in computer science or information technology, teachers and professionals as well.
What Does the IIT Kanpur Course on Python Programming Cover?
The Python Programming course by IIT Kanpur will cover major aspects of the subject and has been designed by Professor Amey Karkare, a faculty of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. The course has been designed to give course takers an understanding of Python assuming that they do not have any prior programming knowledge and experience.
The course will be covered over 8 hours of online lectures, which can be viewed as per course takers’ convenience. The syllabus also includes source code files for hands-on practice, and students would be able to develop their own Desktop/Web-based applications using the Python programming language.
Furthermore, the IIT Kanpur website adds that the course is updated regularly to meet the latest demands of the industry. Also, the access to the course can be extended 3 months at a time, for up to 4 times, just by sending an email requesting an extension to the email id in the footer.
How to Enroll for the IIT Kanpur Course on Python Programming and get Certificate?
Interested students and professionals can enroll for the course on the official IIT Kanpur website. To obtain the certificate a fee of Rs 4237 plus GST needs to be paid. A quiz containing a set of multiple-choice questions will be conducted after each lecture. In addition, a final test based on multiple-choice questions will be conducted. The evaluation to obtain the certificate will include the overall scores achieved in each lecture quiz and the final test, says the IIT Kanpur website. A hard copy of the certificate will be shipped to the student’s college or registered address. A soft copy of the certificate will not be provided.
