IIT Jodhpur Announces MTech in AR and VR for Working Professionals

IIT Jodhpur has announced a part time MTech in AR and VR for working professionals in collaboration with TIH iHub Drishti Foundation for the Semester commencing in session 2023-24. The course is being offered as augmented reality and virtual reality has been emerging as a core technology with a significant impact on productivity. The program has been specifically designed to accommodate the needs of individuals who are unable to attend classes on campus due to their professional commitments.

The program includes brief campus immersions that span no more than 15 days per semester. The MTech, spanning a minimum duration of two academic years, aims to equip professionals with advanced knowledge and expertise in the field of AR and VR technologies. To ensure a high-quality learning experience, the program is conducted by distinguished faculty members from various prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), along with industry experts.

Who Can Opt for IIT Jodhpur MTech in AR and VR?

The eligibility criteria for admission to the program require a minimum percentage of marks or CGPA, depending on the category of the applicant. For the General (GEN) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories, a minimum aggregate score of 60% is required. However, for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PD) categories, a minimum aggregate score of 55% is sufficient.

In terms of CGPA, a minimum of 6.0 out of 10 is required for general and OBC applicants, while SC, ST and PD candidates need a minimum CGPA of 5.5 out of 10. It's important to note that proportional requirements will be applied when the CGPA scale differs from a scale of 10. For example, if the scale is 8, the minimum CGPA required would be 4.8 for general and OBC applicants and 4.4 for SC, ST and PD.

Alternatively, applicants may also be eligible if they have achieved a first-class distinction as specified by the university or institute from the following streams:

  • BE.
  • BTech.
  • MSc.
  • MCA in any discipline.

Topics to be Covered in IIT Jodhpur MTech in AR and VR?
