IIT Indore offers new BTech program in space technology

For the school year 2023 to 2024, the Department of Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Engineering (DAASE), IIT Indore, will offer a BTech Degree in Space Science and Engineering. The JEE-Advanced entrance test will provide admittance to this programme for about 20 candidates. With carefully chosen optional classes and a semester-long research project, the program's selected candidates can specialise in one of the following areas: Imaging and data analytics.

  • Remote sensing and atmospheric engineering.
  • Space electronics: Detectors and payloads.
  • Astronomy and astrophysics.

This new school aims to educate students in science, agriculture, ecology, survey, defence, and navigation. The school can only admit 20 pupils per batch, and the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced results are the only criteria used for admission. One of India's most challenging engineering entrance examinations, JEE Advanced, measures applicants' aptitude and expertise in various engineering disciplines.

The four-year BTech in Space Science and Engineering seeks to teach knowledge and skills in various space science and technology fields, including astronomy, space systems engineering, satellite technology, space physics, and space biology. Curriculum of IIT Indore BTech Degree in Space Science and Engineering
