IIT Hyderabad is currently accepting applications from suitable candidates for two Junior Research Fellow vacancies in architecture and virtual reality. The positions are available under the project titled “Creating Digital Heritage of Representative Architectural Marvels from Each State of North East India”. Selected candidates will be paid a salary of Rs 25,000 plus 20 percent house rent allowance or hostel facility in campus subject to availability. Furthermore, the JRF positions may be converted to PhD as well.
The project vacancies are available in the Department of Design at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad and have been funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The principal investigator of the project is Dr Shiva Ji, who is an assistant professor with the department.
Who can Apply for the IIT Hyderabad JRF Vacancies?
The notification says that for the post of junior research fellow in architecture candidates with a first-class degree in MArch or MDes can apply. However, candidates with an MArch (Conservation) and/or research experience and knowledge of North-East India based vernacular architecture would be preferred.
As far as the junior research fellow in virtual reality vacancy is considered, candidates with a first-class degree in MTech, MArch or MDes can apply. It is mandatory for candidates to have knowledge and interest in virtual reality and augmented reality or digital experience design, 3D modeling, VR and AR and photogrammetry software such as reality capture, cinema 4d, unreal engine, blender, and so on.
