IIT Delhi Invites Applications from Students for Full-Time MSc in Cognitive Science Course

IIT Delhi has invited applications for a new two-year full-time MSc in Cognitive Science course from students who wish to pursue a career in the booming field. The programme will familiarize students with diverse theories, methods, and tools to understand the architecture and functioning of the human mind, says the IIT Delhi website.

Furthermore, students who successfully complete this programme could work in diverse sectors from basic research, brain sciences, management, engineering/design (robotics, smart software, and technology, human-machine interaction), social organizations; or decide to pursue higher education in cognitive science or any of its allied disciplines.

The course will be conducted over a period of two years, and four semesters at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Students are required to complete 75 credits spread across two years -37 in the fisrt year and 38 in the second year – to complete the course.

How will Students be Selected for the IIT Delhi MSc in Cognitive Science Course?

Students will be selected for the MSc in Cognitive Science course based on their COGJET scores and personal interview. However, students with a valid JAM, GATE, CSIR, JRF, or NET scores (where applicable) would be waived from COGJET. In addition to that applicants from Centrally Funded Technological Institutes with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 and those with an MBBS degree from recognized institutions and universities are exempted from the COGJET, GATE, JAM, CSIR, JRF, or NET requirement, says the IIT Delhi website.

Applicants are required to have any valid bachelor’s degree with at least 55 percent aggregate marks or 5.5 CGPA/CPI out of 10. There are a total of 25 seats available.

Interested and eligible students can apply for the IIT Delhi MSc in Cognitive Science course online on the official IIT Delhi website from 2 to 30 March 2020. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview to IIT Delhi, which will be held on 9 May 2020.
