IIT Delhi has announced its annual summer research program yet again, and applications for the same will be accepted until 28 February 2023. IIT Delhi has been conducting the Summer Faculty Research Fellow Program (SFRF) since the year 2008 for aspirant faculty fellows from various institutes and colleges in the mid of May every year. Those selected will get to spend the months of May and July doing research under the guidance of a faculty mentor of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.

The institute aims at encouraging participants to take up research, and acts as a catalyst for candidates who are considering higher studies such as Masters or PhD at IIT Delhi in the near future. The program will be conducted for a period of 6 to 8 weeks, and those selected may be allowed paid campus accommodation at IIT Delhi hostels with basic amenities. 

Who Can Apply for IIT Delhi Research Program?

The Summer Faculty Research Fellow Program is open to regular faculty member of any institute or college, who wishes to pursue higher studies with IIT Delhi in the near future. The list of faculty mentors from the various departments at the institute is available on the official website, along with their areas of interest. The prospective candidates will have to chose a faculty mentor depending on the match of their research interests and of the faculty mentor. “To facilitate the process, prospective fellows are requested to indicate upto four preferences for faculty mentors,” says the website.

How to Apply for IIT Delhi Research Program?

Those who wish to apply for the program will have to ensure that the following steps are completed within 28 February 2023:

  1. Download the SFRF application form from the CEP, IIT Delhi website.
  2. Fill the application form and attach the required documents, which include a copy of the resume, research paper, and publication.
  3. The applications will have to get a no objection certificate from the Head of the Institution to which the applicant belongs.
  4. All documents will then have to be scanned as a single PDF, and emailed to qipcep@admin.iitd.ac.in, and the hard copy of the documents will also have to be posted to the Head, QIP/CEP at the Indian Institute of Technology.
  5. Results and names of those selected will be announced in April 2023, and those who wish to know more are advised to go through the IIT Delhi website for further information.
