IIT Conclave 2019: Use of Artificial Intelligence for the Greater Good

Artificial intelligence: What does the future hold for India? This was the idea that was explored and discussed in the TCS Pan IIT Conclave 2019, with Zinnov as the knowledge partner, at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. The theme was set keeping in mind the fact that artificial intelligence and machine learning are technologies that are poised to transform the way humans will interact with machines, and the role that machines will play in all spheres of human life.

The speakers consisted of noted personalities of the country and abroad from various prestigious domains such IITs, industry leaders, subject matter experts, startups and government authorities. The sessions were based on use of artificial intelligence across diverse realms which are as follows: AI for Social Good, AI for Agriculture, AI for Education, AI in Manufacturing, Ethics, Privacy & Security, Future of Work, AI in Healthcare, AI and Startups, Governance of AI systems, and AI for Finance.

The sessions followed a format wherein the first the topic was addressed, and then based on the ideas generated in the panel discussions, the actions needed to be taken by the academia, industry, startups and policy makers, respectively,  was framed. The panel consisted of one speaker/expert from each domain mentioned above.
