IIT Bombay has announced an online course on machine learning to help students gain knowledge on bandit algorithms. The course, called Bandit Algorithm (Online Machine Learning), is being offered on the SWAYAM NPTEL platform. While the course is free to enroll and learn from, participants who wish to receive a certificate will have to pay Rs 1000 and clear an examination that will be conducted at NPTEL centres in person.
The course is being conducted by IIT Bombay professor Manjesh K Hanawal, who has an MS degree in electronics and communication engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and PhD degree from INRIA, Sophia Antipolis, France, and the University of Avignon, France. He is also the recipient of Inspire Faculty Award from DST and Early Career Research Award from SERB. The course can be completed in 12 weeks.
