Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), a government-aided institute and deemed university for the study and research of space science, is looking to hire engineers for the JRF, JPF and SPF job openings. IIST is an extremely reputed university, which was also the first in Asia to be solely dedicated to the study and research of Outer space. ISRO is known to recruit engineers from IIST based on the requirement available.
The number of positions available are 11 (5 JRF and 3 SPF and 3 JPF position), and interested candidates can start applying online. Who Can Apply for the Current IIST Job Openings
For the Junior Research Fellow posts, candidates with the following qualifications can apply: BE/BTech in Engineering Physics,MSc Physics with flare for programming and a keen interest in writing computer programs and simulations, Dual degree in Physics (Integrated BS/MS or dual degree); and BE/BTech in Electronics and Communication (or subject related to communication). Salary paid will be Rs 25,000 plus House Rent Allowance per month.
For the Senior Project Fellow posts, candidates with the following qualifications can apply: BE/BTech in Avionics/Electronics and Communication Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Computer Science or related areas; ME/MTech/MS in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related areas; and ME/MTech/MS in Mechanical/Aerospace/Aeronautical/Civil/Materials or related areas. Knowledge of Mechanics of Composite materials and Fracture Mechanics is essential. Salary Paid will be Rs 22,000 per month.
For the Junior Project Fellow posts, candidates with the following qualifications can apply: MSc in Physics/Electronics or related areas; and MS/MSc in Physics/Electronics/Material Science/Engineering Physics or BTech in Electronics/Avionics/Instrumentation. Salary Paid will be Rs 20,000 per month as per the IIST Notification.
How to Apply for the Current IIST Job Openings
Indian nationals who have the above mentioned degrees in first class can apply for the research positions and the mode of application is online only on the official IIST website. Candidates are advised to upload the relevant mark sheets and the Degree/ PG certificate at the time of registering the online application, says the notification. Also, the tenure of the position is for a period of One year or co-terminus with the project whichever is earlier and the tenure is extendable on performance and need basis subject to availability of funds. The online submission link for the applications will be available from 19 February 2019 to 12. March 2019 up to 5:00 PM IST.
