IIST Invites Applications for Free Online Course on Advanced Geocomputational Techniques

IIST will conduct an online course on advanced geocomputational techniques, which is part of its GeoConnect 2020 faculty development program

IIST has invited applications from interested candidates for a free online course on advanced geocomputational techniques, which will cover concepts on artificial intelligence and computing for GIS and remote sensing. The course has been sponsored by AICTE Training and Learning Academy (ATAL). The course is part of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology’s (IIST) GeoConnect 2020 Faculty Development Program.

The course is being conducted as current and near future practices of faculty members require high level familiarity and interaction with contemporary developments in technology methods, hardware, platforms for computation and integration high performing and open source computational approaches, says IIST. Special emphasis will be paid to advanced image processing, 3D GIS visualization, Python and R programming for geospatial data analysis, artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithm, and so on.

Who can Apply for the IIST for Free Online Course on Advanced Geocomputational Techniques

The faculty members of All India Council for Technical Education approved institutions, research scholars, postgraduate scholars, bureaucrats, technicians, participants from industry, participants from government, and so on can apply for the online course.

Important Dates and Other Details

There is no registration fee involved for the course as it is sponsored by the AICTE Training and Learning Academy (ATAL). Since there are a limited number of registrations that will be allowed, IIST has advised interested participants to apply soon as candidates will be approved on a first come first serve basis. The last date for online registration on the AICTE ATAL website is 25 October 2020, and the intimation of confirmation will be given by 28 October 2020.

The faculty development program will be conducted from 2 to 6 November 2020. Those who wish to apply for the course are advised to go through the course brochure in detail.
