IIM Bangalore Offers Online Certificate Course on Advanced Corporate Strategy on SWAYAM

IIM Bangalore, which is currently offering several courses for free on MHRD’s SWAYAM platform, has invited students to enroll for the same. One such course that is being offered is on Advanced Corporate Strategy’. The course is of the postgraduate level and can be taken by anybody who is interested to learn about the subject.

The course will be conducted by IIM professors: Dr. R. Srinivasan who has a doctoral degree from IIM Ahmedabad, a postgraduate degree in Forestry Management (PGDFM) from Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) and BSc in Mathematics from Madurai Kamaraj University; and Dr Sai Yayavaram who has a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Texas at Austin, PGDM (MBA) from IIM Ahmedabad and BTech from IIT Madras.

What will the IIM Bangalore Course on Advanced Corporate Strategy Cover?

The course which begins on 27 July 2020 will be conducted over a period of six weeks and is being offered for students who seek advanced exposure to corporate strategy, says the SWAYAM portal. The course deals with the theoretical roots of corporate strategy, the impact of context on the corporate strategy of businesses, exploration of the boundaries of the firm, and formulation of corporate strategy and appreciation of its limits. The syllabus of the course is as follows: corporate advantage, product diversification, vertical integration, geographic diversification, and modes of diversification.

How to Obtain a Certificate for the IIM Bangalore Course on Advanced Corporate Strategy?

The course will end on 31 October 2020 and a computer-based examination will be conducted on 15 November 2020. Students will have to appear at the allotted examination center and produce their hall ticket and government photo identification card. To receive the certificate, candidates will have to get above 40 percent marks in the final examination.
