IIM Bangalore is currently accepting applications for the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship (MGNF), which has been designed by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India (GoI) and is being implemented in collaboration with State Skill Development Missions (SSDMs). MGNF has been conceptualized to attract bright talent and strengthen the skill component at the district administration level. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 50,000 in the first year, and Rs 60,000 in the second year of the program.

There are 660 fellowships available, which will be hosted by 9 IIMs namely IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Jammu, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow, IIM Nagpur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Udaipur and IIM Visakhapatnam. However, IIM Bangalore will also be managing the common admission process. The two-year blended program will combine classroom sessions at host IIMs along with the mentorship of the students selected for the fellowship.

How to Apply for Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship on IIM Bangalore Website?

Interested candidates need to apply on the official IIM MGNF website before 27 March 2021 by first registering with the portal by providing the following details:

  • Date of birth

An OTP will be generated upon verifying which applicants will be registered on the portal. Applicants can then log in using their mobile number and date of birth. On facing difficulty, students can write to helpdesk.mgnf@gmail.com.

Who can Apply for Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship on IIM Bangalore Website?

Candidates who meet the following eligibility criteria may apply for the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship program:

  • Citizens of India who are between 21 to 30 years at the time of application.
  • A graduate in engineering, law, medicine, social sciences, and so on from a recognized university or a post-graduate from a recognized university.
  • Applicant should have three years of work experience after secondary schooling in the social or non-profit sector with an interest in working in rural areas will be preferred.
  • Even students without any experience but with a strong motivation to work in this area will be considered.
  • Applicants must be proficient in the official language used in their particular state government.

Those who successfully conclude the program will receive certificates of completion as MGNF is a Certificate Program in Public Policy and Management offered by host IIMs. Those who wish to know more are advised to go through the official website for more information and then submit applications on the IIM Bangalore website.
