The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) Guwahati and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong have collaboratively unveiled a pioneering educational initiative, a Certificate Program in Project Management in the Development Sector (CPMDS).


This collaboration is a venture aimed at redefining the training of development professionals, launched at the IIE campus in Guwahati in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Lalit Sharma, Director of IIE, Dr. Santanu Mohan Deka, Associate Faculty Member of IIE and Course Director, Dr. Bhaskar Kumar Kakati, Consultant at IIE and Course Coordinator, and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Ningombam, Centre Coordinator of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research and Analysis at IIM Shillong.

CPMDS promises to offer a transformative educational experience that will prepare individuals to excel in the realm of development practices. This program will encourage critical thinking, and problem-solving, and foster a holistic approach to development projects. The program focuses on producing well-rounded professionals who can make a meaningful impact in their fields.

What is the eligibility for the program?


The program has some prerequisites for candidates who want to participate in the program. In terms of eligibility for this program, applicants must have the following qualifications.

  • A graduate degree from an Indian university with a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
  • OR, graduates from any discipline from an Indian University or equivalent foreign university with at least two years of work experience in the development sector, government organizations, NGOs, corporations, etc.

Here, it is important to note that candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories will receive a 5% relaxation in the eligibility criteria.


What is the selection process?

The applications for the CPMDS program are set to commence on 15th September 2023 and prospective candidates have time until 5th October 2023 to submit their applications. After submitting their applications shortlisted candidates will have to complete their admission process by 12th October 2023.

Furthermore, the selected candidates will have the opportunity to attend their courses at the esteemed IIM Shillong campus with classes scheduled to commence on 16th October 2023.
