Staff strength grew 66%, revenues 36%

Legal transfer of the services division to Digital Globalsoft is awaited even as the managerial reporting structure changed during the fiscal

The face of HP ISO changed in December 2003 as its services arm with 1159 people, earlier led by Padma Ravichander, operationally moved over to another HP subsidiary, Digital GlobalSoft. However, since the transfer is not yet legally closed, HP ISO's revenues during fiscal 2003-04 include both the services division that contributed Rs 212 crore to the top line and the STSD (System Technology and Software Division) that contributed Rs 179.5 crore to total revenues. The ownership of more product and technology work from HP global fuelled growth at the STSD which is headed by V Subrahmanyam. The India center increased ownership in HP's work areas including HP-UX, NAS, SAN, Linux and elements of HP's adaptive enterprise. In Linux for instance, it does a lot of work related to clustering, optimization and compatibility with other operating systems. The division, which comes under the Technology Solutions Group of HP, continued to hire aggressively during the year, increasing employee strength from 748 to 1024 during the fiscal. After the legal merger of the services arm with Digital, STSD will continue to function as HP ISO.
