HDFC ERGO awarded for excellence in financial reporting by ICAI

HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company, India’s third largest non-life insurance provider in the private sector, has been awarded for Excellence in Financial Reporting – Category IV by the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI). It is the only award presented in the non-life category for the year ended March 2016.

Speaking on being conferred with the award, Mr. Samir H. Shah, Member of Executive Management & CFO, HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company said, “Given the complex nature of insurance business it is imperative to make financial reporting simple to understand for multiple stakeholders who rely on quality of information provided in the annual report. Recognition from the ICAI for being the best in the non-life insurance sector is a matter of pride for us as an organisation.”

This is the second consecutive year HDFC ERGO has been awarded by ICAI and the fourth in the Company’s journey. The award is a recognition of the quality as well as transparency of financial reporting and Corporate Governance standards adopted by the Company. The ICAI Awards for Excellence in Financial Reporting are presented to deserving companies operating in India with the objective to recognize and encourage excellence in the presentation of financial information.
