HCL Launches Entry-Level Billing System

HCL Infosystems has launched an entry-level point-of-sale (PoS) billing
system, BeePOS Innova. The company forayed into the retail segment in late 2003,
with PoS terminals and has been offering customized computer-based billing
solutions for verticals like retail, transport and utilities.

Priced at Rs 13,500, Innova is VAT-compliant and multilingual and is
primarily targeted at grocery stores, pharmacists, and retail outlets. According
to the company, market size is around Rs 250 to Rs 350 crore and 97% of it is
unorganized market.
