HCL and Symantec expand global strategic partnership

HCL Technologies (HCL) and Symantec announced their plan to expand their current partnership to help enterprises in areas of Cloud Security, Cyber Threats and Forensic Solutions. HCL and Symantec aim to help enterprises better meet their information and risk management needs by building a cyber-resilient service that safeguards them from targeted attacks and persistent threats.

The emergence of sophisticated security threats has resulted in the need for managed security services that can protect organizations and their assets round-the-clock. According to the Cyberthreat Defense Report 2015, 70 percent of respondents’ networks had been breached in 2014 — up from 62 percent in 2013 — of which, more than 20 percent had been breached six times or more. A data breach can have serious consequences, including erosion of brand reputation and loss of shareholder value. Today, as high as 60% of breaches take more than 90 days to be discovered, thus posing a serious threat to organizations.
