GTL undertook one more of its internal restructuring exercise-this time its three divisions merged into two, viz., network engineering (NE) and customer managed services (CMS). While NE included turnkey telecom projects and building networks for enterprises, CMS accounted for managed IT services, Oracle implementation, tech support and BPO. Ostensibly, the decision was a result of shift in focus from software solutions, a part of the Enterprise Solution division. The company claimed that this accounted for the decline in top-line in FY 2003-04, though net profits showed an increase.
