Mumbai-based GTL leaps from the 32nd position last year to the 12th position thanks largely to its overall size. The company closed fiscal 2003 with revenues of Rs 577.91 crore, up 9% over the previous year. Its net profit in the same period stood at Rs 85.64 crore, down 18%. GTL’s gross block grew 26% during the year to Rs 871.06 crore. The company is ranked #8 in sales, #9 in net profit and #4 in gross block. GTL is ranked #24 in sales growth, #31 in profit growth and #19 in gross block growth. GTL’s ROCE at 11.61% was, however, dismal although it was better than 10.22% reported in the previous year.
GTL is ranked #38 in ROCE. The company offers services in the network engineering and IT services space, providing software development and services, deployment of IT infrastructure for Internet and telecom companies, operating call centers and offers managed network, VPN and software development services. GTL provides these services through its divisions, namely Network Engineering, Enterprise Solutions and Customer Management Solutions. Its call center has a capacity of 756 seats, which is being increased to 900 in the current year.
