Grapecity Inc. Acquires ComponentOne LLC

GrapeCity inc., enterprise solution providers for Microsoft Visual Studio, has announced its acquisition of ComponentOne LLC. ComponentOne, now a GrapeCity division is all set to dominate the software component market with resource-product combination on every known platform including .NET, iPhone, Windows Phone and JavaScript.

ComponentOne LLC is learned to have been developing components for Microsoft Visual Studio for more than 25 years. ComponentOne and GrapeCity have had a strategic relationship in overseas markets since 1994.

GrapeCity has been in the software business providing software services, solutions and components for close to 30 years. This acquisition is expected to pave the way for ComponentOne, to be a forerunner in the software components space. The developers would have access to hundreds of controls spanning all Microsoft platforms: Windows Forms, ASP.NET, MVC, Silverlight, WPF and Windows Phone as well as tools for HTML5 and Windows 8 Metro.

Commenting on the acquisition, Nitin Gupta, business development manager, PowerTools division of GrapeCity India says Till now ComponentOne was handling its domestic sales on its own, but with the current acquisition, all sales would come under the GrapeCity umbrella. With effect from 1st July 2012, GrapeCity PowerTools and ComponentOne will be merged into a new division named as ComponentOne, a division of GrapeCity. This strategic combination would strengthen the current sales and technical support systems in India which would give a boost to the developer experience on the market. Both existing and new customers would be having an easy access to the best of resources.

GrapeCity India has been selling Spread and ActiveReports with a great success, creating a large customer base in India, including large enterprises like HCL, TCS, CapGemini to name a few. The GrapeCity PowerTools (ActiveReports, Spread and ActiveAnalysis) would now be sold under the ComponentOne brand.

With no doubt of their domain prowess, GrapeCity - ComponentOne strategic partnership with other companies like Microsoft and ESRI is bound to provide industry-leading components to the developers.
