How is the datacenter market shaping up in India?

The datacenter market is experiencing consistent growth globally as well as in India. The market in India is centered around cloud computing, content acceleration and distribution, social media, internet businesses, and traditional business continuity applications in BFSI and other verticals. Moreover, the eCommerce companies are expanding and many MNCs , instead of catering to Indian customers from Singapore, US, etc, are setting up PoPs in India. We have set up high quality datacenter in India to cater to this need.

Are you offering hosted or colocation services?

GPX does not offer hosted or managed services, we only provide colocation facility with reliable power, cooling, and security. We have multiple partners hosted in our DC who provide varied hosted  cloud services making GPX the marketplace for such services which provides choice to customers.

What sets you apart from the competition?

The uniqueness of our business is the quality and reliability of our datacenter combined with our carrier neutral business model. Today our Mumbai facility is the most interconnected datacenter in India, with over 12 telecom service providers and 25+ ISPs present with their own fiber. GPX is a marketplace for CCC (Carriers, Content, and Cloud), with an ecosystem including the largest social media, content, search, and cloud computing companies in the world.

Is AWS hosting available in your datacenter? And is it available for all types of customers?

Yes, Amazon Web Services Direct Connect service is collocated in GPX’s Mumbai datacenter, it is the only datacenter in India to have AWS Direct Connect PoP where customers can connect to AWS directly using MPLS or point to point leased lines, instead of using Internet. Yes, all customers can directly access AWS Direct Connect at GPX DC.

What are the verticals which you are targeting and have you got any funding?

Cloud computing, content delivery and acceleration, social media, Internet businesses, banking and finance, and telecommunications are the verticals we are targeting.

GPX India owns the datacenter and is very well funded and has no debt.

What are the security and safety measures you have taken at your datacenter?

GPX Mumbai is a highly secured facility with over 130 CCTV cameras, multilevel biometric and pin-based access control, and a dedicated security force which is stationed at all access points, roams the facility both inside and out, and escorts all customers to their specific equipment within the datacenter.

Recently global players such as IBM and Microsoft set up their datacenters in India. How does this move impact yours?

This is a welcome development as many of these global players are not setting up their own DC which is driving the need for quality DC space in India. This, in fact, is a validation of our investment in India which started in 2010 as GPX has always targeted such customers.
