Gmail down is trending on Twitter at present with several user reporting problems while using their account. Users from across several countries are reporting problems with attaching documents to their mails to be specific. “Is it me or everyone’s gmail is not working?,” says Ashwani n twitter. “Never thought Gmail could have server down or technical problems! Is anyone else facing issues while uploading attachments through your G Suite or personal,” asks another user.
Several user are also reporting error 503 while using their email accounts. “Gmail is totally down. Facing problems while sending attachments. Showing some Error Messages!!,” says Bhavik. “Global gmail outage. Can’t send attachments. What we will do at this moment,” says Ashutosh Srivastava.
While more clarity on the matter is expected soon, this seems to be a global outage that has been detected by the popular site Down Detector as well. “Gmail is DOWN!! Some people are having errors on file attachments and uploading, while others can't send or receive mails. The Google Apps status page says they're investigating,” says another user.
The popular service is used by several users for official purposes; therefore, a large number of people are also facing issues while going about their regular work. “Gmail Down and Since 10 am an IT manager my whole office after me that their gmail is not working and I was trying to sort out my network,” says a user.
The company, however, is reverting to users as of now saying “Hello. Having trouble using Gmail? We'll be looking for anything to guide you, so please let us know the details of the situation. Also, take advantage of the following,” while sharing a Gmail help link with users.
Apart from Gmail, Google Drive seems to be affected as well. Users have been reporting problems with uploading files on to Drive, as well as with sharing them. "We are continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by 8/20/20, 1:39 PM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem," said the GSuite status dashboard.
